Posted by Captain Tim Burke on June 21, 2005 at 21:27:46: Ship’s log: Tuesday, June 21, 2005 This again is a first. I am sending this from Vegas, from a nice room at the “Mirage”. I was invited here to meet with some friends in the “Penthouse” for a party in a couple of days. Weeeelllll who could so no? On the way to the hotel I even saw “Elvis”. Have not gambled one penny; I don’t like the tables or machines here. Well off tomorrow on a quest. Last weekend we tried to go to Farnsworth, but once again the sea gods were against us. We left at 3 am and headed out. We were a good 8 miles from the west end and I had been thrown out of bunk enough times and JR was smacking me around. (He hates rough water too). We make our first dive at Long Point and vis was ok, then off to the quarry, and finally Bird Rock The weather is still against us, but I really hope that this is about to change. I am trying for Farnsworth again this weekend and will let you know. Also 4th of July is almost here. I was going to run a special night trip and dinner for the 4th but the city of Long Beach has shut the fireworks down this year for lack of insurance for the show. One last thing. Be careful what you ask for you might get it. (I think a picture will now come up, but not sure). ![]() Captain Tim Burke
