Again sorry for the delay. I have had problems getting a phone landline installed. But right to the heart of things.
September 11th, 2001.
A day that none of us will ever forget. I was taking a shower on my boat when a person from another boat yelled at me, turn on the TV, the world is ending. It was said as a joke, as none of knew the scope of the events for a time. I, as I am sure, most of you did, stayed glued to the TV for the next couple of days. And the anger began to grow, along with the sorrow for the thousands that perished. And of course their families.
I thought of what I could do. Sport Chalet cancelled a two-day trip, leaving the door open for me. On Friday, October 5th, 2001 I ran an open boat to PV, with all proceeds going to the families of the Fire Fighters who perished in the Towers. My crew also donated their time, as did the DM's. Further, many others who could not attend the trip have sent donations for the Fire Fighters. Truthfully, I am over whelmed at the response to this. So many of us feel the same way about this cowardly and devious act of war. As soon as all proceeds have come in, and I expect that within the next two weeks, I will list everyone who donated.
